The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) registers Filipino participants in both programs before their departure from the Philippines. While both offer cultural immersion, these programs serve different purposes and destinations:
The EVP offers Filipinos the opportunity to gain valuable experience abroad through cultural and educational exchange in the United States. Most Filipino participants join as summer work travelers, student interns, or teachers, with the chance to improve their skills, expand their networks, and immerse themselves in American culture
.
.
To prepare them, the CFO provides a Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) that covers program expectations, cultural adjustment, and migrant safety.
Details on the EVP program can be found here: https://www.evpcommittee.ph/
This cultural exchange program is for young, single Filipinos (18-30 years old, no children) in European countries like Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany. Participants live with a host family for up to two years, learning the local language and lifestyle while helping with light household work. As part of the program benefits, au pairs receive a monthly allowance, access to language classes, and other cultural enrichment opportunities.
The CFO conducts the Country Familiarization Seminar (CFS) to ensure that au pairs understand their rights, responsibilities, and commitments before departure.
