The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) participated via Zoom as one of the speakers during the Post-Arrival Orientation and Financial Literacy Seminar for Filipino teachers deployed to the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) in 2024 and 2025, held on 05 September 2025 at the National Louis University in Chicago.
The event, organized by the Philippine Consul General in Chicago, aimed to guide newly deployed J-1 teachers on adjustment and financial management.
The CFO discussed Philippine regulations on the Exchange Visitor Program (EVP), including the two-year home residency requirement and procedures for No Objection Statement requests.
The CFO also highlighted the importance of observing Philippine laws and guidelines to ensure the welfare and protection of participating Filipino teachers under the EVP.
Through its virtual participation, the CFO reaffirmed the EVP Committee of the Philippines' commitment to supporting Filipino participants and promoting awareness of their rights and responsibilities.
The CFO was represented by Ms. Kristine Gacer of the Project Management Division.
